Christmas in Melbourne

Whether you like it or not, ready or not... Christmas is about to hit Melbourne!

The official launch of Christmas Square (corner of Swanston St and Collins St in the CBD) is Friday 27th November. I was there last year with Mr then 3, and we really made the most of the night. We parked on Flinders St (entry after 4 is cheaper). We look forward to doing it all again this year!

Some of the things you can look forward to if you head in for the launch of Christmas Square on Friday night in and around the city include:

The Lighting of the Christmas Tree at Christmas Square from 5.30pm - 9pm. Elmo and the Cookie Monster will be there, with carolers and chiors AND Santa Claus himself! I love the Yarn Bombing that they've added this year - CUTE!

Don't forget to bring your letter to Santa. You can address your letter to:

North Pole

9999

and he'll write back!

There is also a Salvation Army Gift Box - where you can donate a wrapped gift for girls or boys ages between 0-14. What a wonderful addition to Christmas Square!

Melbourne Town Hall- from 9pm - 10.45pm every night you can see the beautiful Light Projection Show. It's definitely worth breaking cerfew for!

You can see the beautiful jingle bells that have lit up Bourke St Mall, and then visit the Myer Windows- this years theme is based on the book Little Dog and the Christmas Wish... and it's a little bit gorgeous!

Is this photo pixilated, or is it a wonderful Christmas display made of Lego? (hint: it's not pixilated!) The Official Lighting of the Lego Christmas Tree at Federation Square will be at 9pm and it will be live every day from then until December 27.

This year you also have the wonderful added bonus of the Night Noodle Market which is on until 29th November. On Friday it starts at 5pm. My recommendation- skip lunch and eat everything. Seriously.

You could also head to Crown for the beautiful show that they have there this year. They also have free photos with Santa again! Yay!

AND from December 1st - the Gingerbread Village by Epicure at the Melbourne Town Hall. For a gold coin donation, you can admire the beautiful gingerbread creations.. you can look but you can't eat! Donations go to the Make a Wish Foundation.

Hope you enjoye the first of the Christmas Spam.. #ChristmasIsComing
