Bulla

Something for everyone!

We planned to head to the Bulla Hill Railway for the morning and ended up spending the whole day in this quiet little pocket, just a short drive from Melbourne Airport.

Our first stop was to meet the retired racehorses at Living Legends (located in Greenvale a 5 minute drive from the railway). I am glad we arrived in time for the guided tour, it was lovely to walk around, read their history, feed them carrots and give them a little pat.

Living Legends is located within the Woodlands Historic Parklands, home to loads of kangaroos and a beautiful homestead where we enjoyed some scones.  Being so close to the airport it was a great place to sit on the grass and watch the planes flying overhead. But if that’s not close enough, you could park at the airport observation area and enjoy a gelato from the ice cream truck.

We then made our way to the Bulla Hill Miniature Railway to enjoy the beautiful scenery from the tracks. We even saw a few dinosaurs!
