We love the time we spend in Fitzroy. It wouldn’t be the first time we have set off on the pursuit of good ice cream, but the promises of Australia’s best ice cream certainly got our attention. The salted caramel or bounty gelato at Gelato Messina were a.m.a.z.i.n.g and both were gluten free. Gelato Messina has a huge range of gluten free ice creams on their menu.

If you’re feeling hungry, you can pop in for a bite to eat at Jimmy Grants (yum!) or one of the many many other restaurants along Smith St. There is also a cute little vintage toy shop on Smith Street which is definitely worth a look- although you wouldn’t make it past the door with a pram.

There is also loads of street art around Smith street and various side streets that you can enjoy.

For the kids, you can’t go past Cubbies – if it is open. .
