Christmas Tree Farms

 

We set up our tree on December 1st each year while watching a Christmas movie, usually Four Holidays or Elf. Our tree started off just 3 colours, purple, silver and red and each yeara we add a new colour or special ornament. This year the boys get to choose :) We usually go to Melbourne Christmas Tree Farms as per below, but there are some other ones listed below. 

 

If you are buying a tree for the first time, you will need a stand. And make sure you've put some thought into how you're going to get it home to avoid having a 6 foot air freshner in your car!

 

Melbourne Christmas Tree Farm

For me, Christmas officially starts when we pick up our tree. It is my favourite event of the year. Buying a fresh tree has always been our tradition since we moved into our house.

 

For the past 4 years we have got our tree from Melbourne Christmas Tree Farm (used to be Melton Christmas Tree Farm) They have trees tagged with prices in their fields and you can take out a saw and cut one down yourself. We love to go through the fields and wander through all of the trees to find the perfect one… but there are some trees that are cut daily and that’s where we usually find ours ;) We usually buy a tree that’s 6-8 foot, price is determined by height and tree quality- we have spent from $70-$90 on each tree, but there are trees from 4-15 foot in height.
