      Dandenong Festival of Lights

Being held from 11th September - 18 October, the Dandenong Festival of Lights is a wonderful event for the whole family.

You can't miss the beautiful lights as you are approaching the ticket booth. With a beautiful walk way of crescent moons and the incredible Pagoda in the background, we just new our evening was going to be pretty special.

We had a wander around the displays which included animals, birds, dinosaurs, and finding Nemo. But the beautiful Pagoda at at 15 meters high and adorned with 18,000 Chinese Ceramic bowls is something you truly have to see for yourself. It is hard to believe it isn't a permanant fixture of the area, and that was definitely my favourite.

When I asked our Mr 4 what his favourite one was, he said 'all of them!' but i have a feeling that his favourite was the Panda playground, but with over 500 lanterns on display, there was no wonder he didn't want to choose. As a family we had a really nice time, the kids were happy exploring and hubby thought it was a really nice evening for us too.

We were able to pick up a gelati while we were there, there were a couple of food trucks and toilets. There was plenty of free local parking around the reserve.

You can purchase tickets online, or at the gate.
